From innumerable fatalities to the rise of racist attacks, nationalist movements and widening inequality, the pandemic has ushered in a completely new “normal”. Interestingly, world democracy levels have also reportedly declined over the past year. Is this a coincidence? These artists are only acknowledged as successful when they accomplish extraordinary achievements, while others are not subjected to these standards.
The freedom of the individual has been promoted since the dawn of the liberal democracy. However, should constitutions and laws prioritise individual freedom over the freedom of the masses? Or should the laws protect and serve the people as a whole?
